What do you think about black hat search engine optimization? Have you ever tried any of such methods to improve your backlinks or page rank? Why do black hat methods produce such a strong response? I think black hat seo methods originated from the quest of web masters to find new and ‘instant’ ways to increase their website’s search engine result page (SERP) ranking. Some of these guys were ready to do anything which can take their sites to better ranking and hence better organic traffic. As a result, the world of black hat SEO methods formed.

Basically we can say that any seo method which is against the terms implied by search engines is black hat. Black hat methods are just like fooling search engine algorithms resulting to get higher number of backlinks and high SERPs. Most of the people choose black hat methods just because of the quick results it can bring. But in the long run the websites those who are capitalizing on black hat methods get banned or blocked from search engine indexed pages. Some dangerous black hat methods are Hidden or invisible text, Keyword and Meta stuffing, Website duplication, Link farms, Page cloaking etc.
Webmasters do hide their text in the css code or some times they give text exactly the same color as of the background. So that visitors may not be seeing the text and search engine spiders will see. Remember, the text on the site plays a very important role on search engine optimization this is why people choose this method.
Keyword and meta stuffing (check previous articles for details ) are methods placing excessive number of targeting keywords or creating content just for the sake of pushing particular keywords to get higher ranks.
Website duplication or mirroring is creating multiple websites with exactly (or almost) the same content for different keywords with different urls but this method is the most popular in the series of black hat methods.
Page cloaking is another dangerous blackhat trick which involves the creation of two versions of the exactly same page. Visitors will be shown one version and a very different version will be shown to the search engine spiders, this page will be keyword stuffed for the purpose of higher ranking.
Link farms are groups of websites (mostly mirrors) having a very large number of interlinks that is by creating hundreds of duplicate sites that all link to each other. So if you use these you may be getting hundreds or maybe thousands of links towards your website. But remember, search engines know where the links coming from and can penalize your webpage for using link farms.
There are many more black hat seo tricks which can make your sites highly ranked with less efforts and in short time. But remember that this is not a long term game. If you choose any of such methods, it means that your website is going to be banned soon.
